Walls is a very popular bodyboarding spot located at the Kapahulu Groin in Waikiki. The Kapahulu Groin was originally built by James W. Glover Ltd. as an extension of the storm drain that runs under Kapahulu Avenue. The promenade was added to enhance the usability of the structure and surrounding beaches. The project was completed in 1951, as part of the Waikiki Beach Improvement Project.
Today, visitors and locals a like visit the Kapahulu Groin to body board and people watch. Walls is an excellent spot for beginners, and offers soft rolling waves with easy access. The summer south swells are provide a bit more adventure, but are mild as this part of the beach is protected by the outer reefs.
