Barack Obama Clinches Democratic Nomination

Hawaii born presidential hopeful, Barack Obama, clinched the Democratic Party nomination on Tuesday. Barack Obama has become the first black American to seal the Democratic Presidential nomination. He now has to battle it at the polls with Republican John McCain.

“Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States,” a smiling Obama told a crowd of supporters at St. Paul’s Xcel Center. Yesterday, Obama grabbed the 2,118 delegates needed to clinch the nomination for the November polls.
